NTT America Announces Addition of Second Data Center in Northern Virginia

Managed Service Options Augment State-of-the-Art Facilities for Colocation

New York, N.Y. – In response to strong customer demand for premium data center services, NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, today announced an expansion of its data center facilities in Northern Virginia with the addition of a second data center. Similar to NTT America’s other premier data centers, the new site is designed for enterprise-class customers who are seeking state of the art facilities for their IT infrastructure.

The site is equipped with carrier-class uninterruptable and back-up power, augmenting redundant power supplies connected to multiple power feeds. Optimal systems performance is maintained by fully redundant water cooling systems coupled with advanced humidity and temperature controls. Continuous monitoring ensures that all systems are fully operational. In addition, a multi-gigabit interconnection to NTT America’s Tier 1 Internet Backbone, along with local carrier diversity, provides the high performance and availability required by enterprise IT services.

The new data center offers enterprise customers the flexibility of integrating Managed Services and Colocation Services to meet the specific requirements of their solution. NTT America’s portfolio of Managed Services includes Managed Storage, Managed Security, Managed Back-up, Virtual Hands and Professional Services.

Customers in this newest data center, as at other NTT America premier sites, are assured of the highest levels of physical security with 24x7x365 on-site staffing, bullet proof glass, biometric hand scans and digitally recorded closed circuit video monitoring.

“Expanding our presence in the Northern Virginia region allows us to provide our customers with a more robust and comprehensive service,” said Machifumi Kashiwagi, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Hosting Business Unit, NTT America. “This is an important market for customers who require enterprise-grade data center facilities for their corporate IT infrastructure. We are pleased to accommodate their need with our secure, high-performance data center services.”

The new data center, along with the build-out of space in the existing data center, adds approximately 20,000 square feet of premium space in the high-demand Northern Virginia corridor.
