NTT America Executives Keynote and Present at IEEE GLOBECOM 2009
NEW YORK, NY – November 30, 2009 – NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), today announced the company’s COO, Kazuhiro Gomi, will deliver the keynote address for Enterprise Networking (ENTNET) 2009, a long-running conference organized under the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) for the purpose of promulgating an understanding of the development and evolution of enterprise-level networking technologies, at IEEE GLOBECOM 2009. NTT America’s Director of Product Engineering, Cody Christman, will deliver a presentation during the IPv6 Forum, a Business Forum at IEEE GLOBECOM 2009 that is hosted by the IPv6 Forum, a world-wide consortium of leading Internet vendors, service providers and National Research & Education Networks (NRENs). The event will be held November 30 to December 4 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu, Hawaii.
ENTNET 2009 will focus on Advances in Enterprise Networking Solutions: LAN/WAN, Wireless, Security, and Network Management. At the forefront of NTT Communications’ global business development as a leading provider of enterprise hosting, managed network, and global IP networking services including IPv6, NTT America has unique insight into how enterprise customers and service providers worldwide can cost effectively and productively deploy next generation services and applications to support growth and additional revenue opportunities. Mr. Gomi will present on the topic of navigating international trends in business and technology.
Mr. Gomi leads NTT America as its COO, overseeing the Enterprise Solutions and the Global IP Network business units, which comprise the operations of NTT America, including all facets of finance, engineering, operations and customer relations. During his keynote presentation, he will discuss challenges and opportunities surrounding the dramatic increase in worldwide demand for Internet access. Three key issues dominate the future landscape: the growing number of Internet-enabled devices, the changing variety of available web applications both for businesses and consumers, as well as the necessity of unifying communications across platforms. The keynote presentation will include the importance of an international point of view on business, what countries will have the most impact on demand creation and how network security will continue to play a critical role in growth.
“The NEXT BIG BAIL-OUT: Will IPv6 Save the Internet?” is the theme of the IPv6 Forum, which will feature IPv6 subject matter experts and leaders from around the world. As director of product engineering, Mr. Christman directs a team of senior engineers in designing products to meet strategic business objectives for the NTT Communications Global IP Network, which was the first Tier-1 network fully upgraded to run IPv6 and is one of the world’s largest commercial IPv6 networks. With real-world IPv6 experience, both architecturally and operationally, Mr. Christman, will speak on “IPv6 Deployment & Commercial Applications at NTT America.”
While the finite number of IPv4 addresses presents a serious challenge, the solution – IPv6 – presents a major opportunity. Mr. Christman will discuss the benefits of IPv6 by demonstrating the protocol’s effectiveness through the use of real-world, commercially available applications that leverage IPv6 multicast such as Hikari-TV, the large scale, commercially successful IPTV over IPv6 service, and an Earthquake Early Warning System. The applications will show first-hand how IPv6 technologies can be used in everyday life. “IEEE GLOBECOM is a premier communications event for industry professionals and academics from companies, governmental agencies and universities from around the world,” said Christopher Davis, director of marketing for NTT America’s Global IP Network. “In addition, this year’s theme, ‘Riding the Wave to Global Connectivity,’ makes GLOBECOM 2009 an excellent event for Mr. Gomi and Mr. Christman to share their insight on the issues and technologies currently driving and supporting global Internet demand.”
