NTT America Gold Sponsor of Network World’s IT Roadmap Conference and Expo in Atlanta, GA

Atlanta Key Location on NTT America’s Global IP Network

New York, NY – NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) and a Tier-1 global IP network services provider, today announced that the company will serve as a gold level sponsor of Network World’s IT Roadmap Conference and Expo on Wednesday, June 24, at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, GA. Hosted by Network World, Inc., the free, one-day, regional IT event addresses best solutions and best practices to keep companies moving through tough economic times.

The IT Roadmap Conference and Expo combines the advantages of both a professional conference and private expo to target many of the critical topics facing the IT industry today. Free-of-charge to network and IT professionals who register and qualify in advance, the conference brings together more than 60 leading IT vendors and 8,000 IT professionals to foster creative discussion about market trends, best practices, and past successes with business optimization methods. An important focus of the conference is how to cut costs and maximize profits through such means as cloud computing and SaaS, adopting green practices, and transforming data centers to generate new profits.

Operating a Global IP Network (GIN) node in Atlanta since 2006, NTT America directly connects Atlanta based companies to major markets around the world via its Global Tier 1-IP Backbone (NTT Communications Global IP Network). NTT America’s Global IP Network distinguishes itself from other Tier-1 networks as being the only global Tier-1 headquartered in Asia.

“It is important that Atlanta based companies stay ahead of the game when it comes to connectivity to hundreds of multinational corporations and to the fastest growing segments of the Internet – Southeast Asia and Latin America,” said John Woodward, Metro Atlanta Chamber Director of Foreign Investment. “This is a great example of how our high-tech members are helping Atlanta based companies remain globally competitive.”

Recognizing the importance of staying on top of new industry trends and innovations to thrive in today’s competitive IT market, NTT America will be on hand at IT Roadmap Atlanta to discuss NTT America’s Global IP Network solutions with attendees. High speed, high reliability and sufficient routes characterize NTT America’s Global IP Network, which logged 210 Gigabits per Second (Gbps) in April 2009—the fastest bandwidth currently available—on the transpacific portion of the network, maintains industry-leading SLAs (service level agreements) and offers direct connection to major ISPs in Asia, the United States and Europe.

“Business applications are continuously being created on IP. Today it’s multimedia, gaming, and social networking and tomorrow there will be new services, but one thing remains the same – they will run over IP,” said Michael Wheeler, vice president of sales and business development, Global IP Network Business Unit of NTT America. “In today’s competitive business environment it’s important that these services are offered over the highest quality, not least cost, network.” “Our business is booming. In 2008, NTT America saw more than 700 percent growth in the purchase of the company’s dual-stack bandwidth, and a significant increase in 10GigE and GigE ports provisioned. The company continues to see network traffic growing month after month, and the latest reports show a 70 to 80 percent average growth rate in network traffic for 2009,” said Kazuhiro Gomi, COO of NTT America. “We’re looking forward to bringing integrated, managed IT infrastructure solutions to Atlanta customers.”

NTT America offers IP Transit bandwidth from 10mbps to 10Gbps over both the current Internet protocol (IPv4) and the next generation Internet protocol (IPv6). NTT America’s Global IP Network is distinguished by peering relationships, a single ASN (2914) and global NOCs (network operations centers). As a Tier-1 ISP, NTT America has private peering with all other Tier-1 providers, does not acquire transit from any third party, and exchanges traffic with other Tier-1 ISP’s free of charge (Settlement Free Peering). In addition, the NTT America GIN has over 1tbps of peering capacity globally. NTT America’s Global IP Network’s global single ASN 2914 allows ubiquitous route view to customers globally, ensures routes announced to a multiple region customer remain consistent, provides consistent global operations and best practices, and allows global use of MPLS-TE. In addition, all of NTT America’s GIN U.S. support calls are answered by an engineer at the Dallas, Texas NOC ensuring top quality engineering support.
