NTT America Launches International Network Gateway in Chicago

Full Service Node To Extend First Class Communication Services to Midwestern Region.

NEW YORK, NY - NTT America, the U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, the international and long distance service arm of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, the largest telecommunications company in the world, today announced the opening of an international network operation and gateway center in Chicago. The latest node in the NTT America network, it has been installed to support the business interests of Midwestern-based multinational corporations with desired connections to Europe and Asia.

NTT America's network operations centers provide secure, reliable and scalable network infrastructure solutions under its Arcstar family of services, including managed data and IP network services, systems integration, collocation and 24-hour support as well as a single point of contact for reliable end-to-end connectivity. Through this gateway, customers in this region enjoy significant cost reduction by having the ability to simply "plug-in" to the Arcstar global backbone network.

"The addition of the new network operations and gateway hub in Chicago further strengthens our ability to service the diversified manufacturing, financial, and professional service industries in the Midwest since Chicago is the solid No.2 in the financial services industry with 5 exchanges in town, and home to many law, accounting, consulting, and advertising firms," said Dave Ryan, executive vice president of NTT America. "Our world-class centers are built to deliver the highest standards in security, reliability and scalability and are an integral part of our commitment to meet the needs of multi-national corporations by delivering the services necessary for them to succeed."

At a time when many competitors are closing data centers and constricting their points of presence, NTT America is continuing to establish and expand its presence across the United States.
