NTT America Wins Contract from Neways International to Provide Frame Relay Services and T-1 network to Asia

Network allows personal care products firm to expand presence in Japan and throughout Asia

NEW YORK, NY - NTT America, the U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, the international and long distance service arm of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, the largest telecommunications company in the world, today announced it has completed network installation for Neways International, an innovator in the personal care and cosmetics industry. The U.S.- Asia network was recently re-engineered for Voice over Frame Relay from Asia as a result of a considerable increase in business for Neways International.

"As our strong international growth necessitated moving into the next generation of telecommunications, we started considering premiere vendors for our enhanced frame relay service," said Richard A. Evans, IT Manager for Neways International. "Having had no previous experience with NTT America, we entered the relationship based largely on NTT's strong presence in both the U.S. and Japan and the competitive pricing and level of service commitments made to us. We have been extremely pleased. During each installation, NTT engineers were responsive, knowledgeable, and personable. Beyond the technical issues, the business relationship has also been outstanding."

Under terms of the contract, NTT America installed the network, converting Neways International's ISDN to a dedicated T-1 network. Once that was in place, the frame relay supporting voice and fax was engineered, allowing for continual and consistent communication between the firm's offices in the U.S. and its expanding customer base in Japan and throughout Asia.

"We are determined to satisfy any customer needs with every possible solution by providing high-quality, reliable service," said Dave Ryan, executive vice president for NTT America. "Our unique approach, which seeks to identify a customer's needs for network and IP services before recommending specific solutions, helps us to stand out from our competitors."
