NTT America's COO to Keynote CTO Telecom Summit 2009

Kazuhiro Gomi to Share Insights on Managing Global Network Infrastructure for Success

NEW YORK -- NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), announced the company’s COO, Kazuhiro Gomi, will speak at the CTO Telecom Summit today at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. As part of one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world and a leading provider of enterprise hosting, managed network, and global IP networking services, NTT America has unique insight into how enterprise customers and service providers worldwide can cost effectively and productively deploy next generation services and applications to support growth and additional revenue opportunities. Mr. Gomi will present on the topic of strategic networking environments: managing global network infrastructure for success.

Mr. Gomi leads NTT America as its COO and was recently named to the Global Telecoms Business Power100, a list of the 100 most powerful and influential people in the telecoms industry. In his role as COO, Mr. Gomi oversees the Enterprise Solutions and the Global IP Network business units, which comprise the operations of NTT America, including all facets of finance, engineering, operations and customer relations. The Enterprise Solutions Business Unit (ESBU) is focused on providing private networking and datacenter/colocation solutions to enterprise customers and multinational corporations. The Global IP Network (GIN) Business Unit operates one of the leading Global Tier-1 Internet backbones and offers direct IP transit connections to telecommunications companies, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), content providers, Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), enterprises and Web hosting companies. Mr. Gomi will discuss challenges and opportunities surrounding the dramatic increase in worldwide demand for Internet access. Three key issues dominate the future landscape: the growing number of Internet-enabled devices, the changing variety of available web applications both for businesses and consumers, as well as the necessity of unifying communications across platforms. The keynote presentation will include the importance of an international point of view on business, what countries will have the most impact on demand creation and how network security will continue to play a critical role in growth.

Attendees will gain an understanding of which emerging applications and technologies will be at the forefront of this demand curve including IPTV, VoIP, cloud computing and video conferencing. Mr. Gomi will share firsthand experience regarding the integral role IP network reliability is playing in connecting customers to the services they desire as an increasing number of IT resources and applications move to the cloud. In addition, Mr. Gomi will give an overview of the next-generation Internet protocol, IPv6, and how its deployment will eliminate the address limits of IPv4 and what benefits IPv6 provides.

“The CTO Telecom Summit brings together an elite group of IT leaders who will have a unique opportunity to be candid with one another as they discuss the vital issues facing the telecommunications industry as we look to 2010 and beyond,” said Christopher Davis, director of marketing for NTT America’s Global IP Network. “It’s the ideal event and audience for Mr. Gomi to share his insight on the issues and technologies currently driving global Internet demand.”
