NTT Communications Plays Leading Role In Digital Content Distribution Worldwide
New York, NY – May 01, 2013 – NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications (NTT Com), and a global IP network services provider, today announced that Brent Duncan, vice president of sales and marketing of the company’s NTT Communications Global IP Network (GIN) business unit, will speak at Digital Hollywood Spring 2013. The conference, taking place April 29-May 2 in Marina del Rey, California, has become one of the premier entertainment and technology events in the country, bringing together executives from the film, television, music, home video, cable, telecommunications, and computing industries to discuss the future of digital content. A leading provider of global IP networking, enterprise hosting and managed network services, NTT America has unique insight into how digital entertainment executives and content distribution decision makers can provide their customers and viewers with the best possible online experience enabled by a state-of-the-art, secure and reliable global IP backbone.
Mr. Duncan will participate in the panel “Video Everywhere – Technologies & Platforms – Enabling the Next Generation of Over-the-Top TV” that will discuss how the proliferation of new TV technologies and cable interactivity is pushing video to an even wider audience. Panelists will also talk about of the challenges and opportunities that arise as digital video becomes even more pervasive and content can be accessed from virtually everywhere. The panel will be held Wednesday, May 1, from 3:50 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. More details are available here.
“Consumers are accessing video through an ever increasing number of mediums, and they expect to have that content delivered almost instantly, with great quality and no buffering,” Mr. Duncan said. “In order to make that happen, social networking, content delivery, entertainment and media companies need a strong, leading-edge, high-performance IP backbone to meet their customers’ needs. That’s where we come in,” he added. Via its NTT Communications Tier-1 Global IP Network, NTT America provides the infrastructure and solutions that help companies deliver high-definition video, big data and rich media online content to their most demanding customers.
As video becomes more easily available to an even wider audience, Mr. Duncan will address the challenges media and entertainment companies face for content distribution and access worldwide. Relying on a global, high-performance network that offers flexibility in bandwidth and attractive pricing is essential for a successful business model, but equally important is the reliability and security of the services. As high-profile, high-traffic sites become easy targets of DDoS attacks, Mr. Duncan will also discuss the sometimes irreparable damages that these threats might cause not only to network infrastructure but also to company brand and revenues.
In his role as vice president of sales and marketing, Mr. Duncan is responsible for all sales, marketing and communications efforts for the NTT Communications Global IP Network (GIN) business unit of NTT America. With nearly two decades of experience in technology sales and management, including enterprise security and software-as-a-service delivery platforms, Mr. Duncan has a strong track record in managing exponential sales growth in organizations as well as in developing and implementing strategic sales programs in global enterprises.
