Data Center

Japan Osaka 5 Data Center - Nexcenter

Japan Osaka 5 Data Center has a seismically isolated structure, with a direct connection to a robust seismic cable tunnel, ensuring highly reliable and secure service.  The data center offers a hybrid cloud solution connecting our Enterprise Cloud and colocation services, with software-defined networking (SDN) providing a flexible response to your needs. The facility has achieved PUE value 1.3 by adopting various ecological initiatives.

Convenient Location
Seismic Isolation
PUE 1.3
Low-Latency Connectivity

Osaka 5 Data Center stands only 7 minutes away from the nearest train station and is accessible within 20 minutes from the JR Shin-Osaka station. The convenient location means you can reach the data center on foot, even when all the public transportation halts in an emergency. Natural disaster risk, including tsunamis, floods and high tides, is extremely low. The data center is located 6 km away from Osaka Bay and 3 km away from the closest river.

The data center also features a fully equipped office building for use as a system monitoring center or a business continuity planning (BCP) office. The office building is inside the data center campus and communication lines between the office and data center racks are backed by generators for power source redundancy.

With its seismic isolation structure, Osaka 5 Data Center can reduce 80 percent of seismic shocks from an earthquake. This minimizes the impact of an earthquake and protects the building, facilities and computer equipment, even in an earthquake as big as the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake in 2011 or Great Hanshin Earthquake in 1995. The data center has a direct connection to a robust seismic cable tunnel that protects lead-in cables from damage by earthquakes, providing highly reliable and secure network connectivity.

Osaka 5 Data Center has achieved PUE 1.3 by adopting a variety of ecological initiatives, including installation of energy efficient water-cooling system, outdoor air-cooling system and end wall injection air-conditioning system.

Osaka 5 Data Center is in close proximity to the Dojima area, the collecting point of networks for the Kansai area, and it is connected to NTT Communications' high-speed high-capacity "Arcstar Universal One" network backbone and other global network services.

The data center supports scalable system expansion by combining global data center services and cloud services. You can configure a hybrid cloud connecting NTT Communications' Enterprise Cloud and colocation services using software-defined networking (SDN). SDN enables you to manage your cloud environment without concern for physical distance, facilities or environment.
