NTT America's Kazuhiro Gomi, Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, to Speak at the 2009 CIO Leadership Event

Media Advisory

When: Tuesday, May 5, 2009, from 11:35 a.m. EDT to 12:30 p.m. EDT

What: NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), today announced NTT America’s Kazuhiro Gomi, Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Global IP Network, will speak at a Business Technology Briefing of the 2009 CIO Leadership event on May 3-5, 2009 at the Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa. Mr. Gomi will discuss enterprise challenges to plan and operate strategic IT and networking infrastructure during the session titled “Strategic Network Environments: Managing Global IT Infrastructure for Success.” NTT Communications is a corporate sponsor of the event.

Who: Kazuhiro Gomi, CTO and Vice President, Global IP Network, NTT America, is responsible for the company’s technology strategy, industry relations and standardization efforts, and overall product portfolio management. Mr. Gomi holds a MSIE from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a MSEE from Keio University, Tokyo. He holds several patents in the areas of voice systems.

Why: Networks are critical to business operations. In a recent survey, more than one-third of CIOs expressed the need for a fundamental restructuring of their network infrastructure. These sweeping changes will be necessary to deal with the petabytes of data that will be pouring through enterprise networks within the next five years. Despite cost reduction mandates, IT organizations face increasing demands for advanced networks to support such initiatives as telepresence, virtualization and global enterprise applications. These bandwidth requirements are further accentuated when considering that much of the growth is expected to occur in remote regions like Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East. During this presentation, Mr. Gomi will discuss how multi-national organizations should handle this challenge, and what CIOs should expect from managed service providers.

Where: Champions C, Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa, 1000 PGA Tour Boulevard, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082
