Load Balancing Services Datasheet
High-speed Traffic Management
Load Balancing distributes website traffic between multiple application servers, improving overall site performance and protecting against server failure. Traffic is routed to a public IP address on the load balancing switch and then distributed using private IP addressing thereby increasing utilization and resilience.
NTT America's Load Balancing Services utilize Nortel Alteon Application Switches to dynamically route traffic to different web servers based on defined criteria. This enables the customer to continue to provide their users high performance services throughout times of high traffic variations, server outages or server expansions.
Load Balancing Services
NTT America offers two configurations for its load balancing services:
- Shared — ideal for basic requirements where traffic is more predictable and whose performance and security needs are focused on a per-server basis.
- Dedicated with High Availability — for customers with a high number of load-balanced servers or who need some customization, Dedicated Load Balancing gives further redundancy and performance.
NTT America also supports Dedicated Load Balancing without the high availability option for customers with specific needs. These services work with the full NTT America Enterprise Hosting portfolio, including Dedicated Hosting, Colocation, Managed Storage & Recovery Services and Managed Security.
