Singapore Serangoon Data Center Virtual Tour

Get to know our data center
The following images give you an in-depth virtual tour of our Singapore Serangoonb data center facility.

Singapore Serangoon Data Center is a purpose-designed and built five-stories data center located in Serangoon area which is classified as a low risk flood prone zone by the local Public Utilities Board (PUB). It has a unique rectangular shape facing the East to minimize sunlight exposure and dual layer wall to prevent heat transfer into the building.

Before coming to the data Center, all visitors are required to submit an entry application. Trained security officers at the guardhouse will check if you are an authorized personnel or a pre-registered visitor.

REVOLVING GATE
Once your identity is confirmed and you go through the revolving gate, all visitors will be subjected to body check and baggage check.

At the reception counter, photo identification is required to receive an IC card to access the data center floor. Rack keys will also be provided at the counter.

CERTIFICATION PLATES
Singapore Serangoon Data Center has been awarded LEED Gold certification for its environmental design. It is also the first commercial data center to receive Singapore's Building Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark Platinum Award.

BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION DEVICE
There are two finger vein authentication device installed at the entrance lobby to speed up the registration process. All visitors are required to register finger vein information in order to access each area of the data center.

LOCKERS
All unnecessary belongings should be kept in the lockers during the visit.

GREEN WALL
Green Wall is one of the unique green feature of Singapore Serangoon Data Center. It is irrigated by natural rainwater and its control system is powered by the solar panels on the rooftop. Other green features include use of motion sensors, NEWater, energy and water-efficient fittings within the premises.

There are three meeting rooms prepared for customers which could be booked for maximum of two hours per day. Wireless LAN service and telephones are available upon request.

A miniature model of the data center is placed in the presentation room to give an overlook of the building structure.

The security gates are equipped with anti-pass back and anti-tailgating functions. Customers go through the gate by using the IC card issued at the reception counter.

Singapore Serangoon Data Center is a carrier neutral data center which provides great network diversity. Meet-me rooms are highly secured and all personnel are required to be escorted by a data center staff to enter the room.

There is a mantrap at entrance of every server rooms with interlocking function and anti-tailgating function for high security. IC card authentication is required to open the door to the mantrap, and biometric authentication is required inside the mantrap to open the door to the server room.

Our server room has a 600 mm raised floor with loading capacity of 12 kN/m2. Electrical cables are laid under the raised floor and data cables are placed above the racks. Each rack receives power from two different PDUs to secure power redundancy.

STANDARD RACK
We have installed 45U high-density racks with loading capacity of 800 kg as standard racks. Private cages are also available.

High sensitivity smoke detection system (HSSD) and cross zone smoke and heat detectors are installed for fire detection in the data center. For fire suppression, we adopt N2 gas fire suppression system, handled fire extinguishers and pre-action dry pipe sprinklers.

Air-conditioning units are installed at the service corridor which is completely separated from the server room to allow maintenance of the units without entering server rooms or customer's private suites.

Static UPS regulates the electric power and maintains consistent power supply to customers' racks in the unlikely event of power failure. It is in N+1 redundant configuration and is able to provide up to 15minutes of backup power at full load.

Cooling towers, generators and rotary UPS are installed at the rooftop steel structure to save space for server rooms inside the building and to provide shade to minimize direct heat transfer to the building.

GENERATORS
Our 2.5 MVA generators built with N+1 redundancy enables backup power supply to the server rooms and common facilities for more than 24 hours in case of power failure. In addition, we have diesel refuel contract to refuel the diesel tanks in two to four hours.

COOLING TOWERS
Cooling towers are heat removal devices used to transfer process waste heat to the atmosphere. They are in N+1 redundant configuration.

NEWATER TANK
We have two incoming sources of water: domestic water and NEWater. NEWater is a recycled water used mainly for our cooling system. It is also used as a backup source of the domestic water when needed.

SOLAR PANELS
Solar panels provide electricity for all the irrigation works and lightings to the plants and water feature in the building.

There is a freight elevator with a loading capacity of four tons. The elevator has installed access control function using IC cards for higher security.

There are two loading bays in the data center. This loading bay is the smaller one able to accommodate a two-ton truck while the other loading bay can accommodate a four-ton truck. Both of them have a lifter platform to make the loading/unloading easier.

STAGING ROOM
Various power outlets are available at the staging room so customers can unpack and stage their equipment with appropriate power outlets before mounting into their racks.

We have two power plant rooms which host switchgears, switchboards, transformers, and other power-related facilities. There are two independent incoming power feeds from two different substations to the data center to provide 2N power distribution to customers' rack.

Chillers are in N+1 redundant configuration to support the effective chilled water cooling system.
